3D Blender  Assessment: Design an Everyday product
DAVID NKEMDIRIM CHINEDU

STEP 1

Step 1: Starting from the bottom boiler component, create an inscribed polygon, next to the origin, draw a construction line form the origin, set the number of edges to 8 and add a dimension of 42mm. Extrude and give it a height of 80mm and set the taper angle to -8 degrees to make the extrusion slimmer at the top. Draw a straight line at the edges of the bottom to create a closed profile. Apply a dimension of 35mm from the center origin and revolve to cut the edges neatly. Repeat the process for the top edges. Select the top face of the bottom boiler and extrude to 5mm and add a fillet to the edges of the top profile to create a smooth tansition. Finally select the shell command and select the to profile to create a hollow inside

STEP 2

For the inner basket seize component, Draw a new straight line of length 80mm from the origin and try to form a half shaped basket. Add a dimension at the top of 35mm, 1mm at the tip of the shape, inner distance dimension of 31mm and 80mm at both of the side from the origin point until it forms a closed profile. Revolve the finshed sketch to a degree of 360, add fillets of 3mm at the edges of the revolved funnel and select the top face, using the shell command to create a hollow of 5mm. Finally peforate the buttom by selecting the bottom circle and extruding to a distance of -5mm.

STEP 3

For the collecting chamber component, Draw a straight construction line from the origin of length 95mm and draw a shape for the bottom of the collecting chamber, add dimensions for the top of 37mm, 15mm for the sides until it forms a closed profile. And revolve at 360 degrees to form the base. Then select the edge of the bottom ring, project it, hover over the center of the projected line and draw a straigh line upwards of length 85mm and use it as a reference to draw the profile for the collecting chamber, with a dimention of 43mm for the to and 15mm at the base until it forms a closed profile, Then revolve to a degree of 360. Select the top, draw a construction line from the origin point and use it to draw a sketch with dimensions 25mm and 15mm respectively to form the beak, use the mirror command to create a duplicate, repeat for smaller dimentions at the midpoint of the collecting chamber and use the loft selecting the top and bottom profile command to form the beak.  Finally select the midpoint circle to form the nossle by extruding to the height of the chamber.

STEP 4

For the handle base, project a line at the midpoint of the collecting chamber component and draw a line parallel to the projected line to form the handle profile with dimensions 15mm for the top, 20mm for the sides and 24mm for the bottom. Draw a circle at the midpoint with diameter of 3mm, make it tangent with the edge and Extrude at both sides. Draw the handle extension and extrude by 5mm also.

Finally, for the lid draw a circle draw a circle from the midpoint to the top of the collecting chamber. Draw a straight construction line from the center to the beak and using its midpoint as a reference, draw a three point arc tangent to it, mirrow the profile both ways, triming the unwanted lines. Extrude to 6mm and intersect projected lines at the front and back to cut the lid halfway at the midpoint using the split command. Project the top of the lid to 20mm and draw a cycle with a diameter of 10mm then use the loft tool to create the top of the lid symetrically. Add a sphere ontop with a diameter of 16mm and join to the body, Then combine to complete the lid.
